I would to hear your physicalist explanation for how elections impact human lives. And please don't use abstractions because they aren't physical. :-)
Or to be more concrete, what is your physicalist explanation for my reaction to this blog? How do explain the fact that you share abstractions and people respond to them, if abstractions are not physical? Finally, does information have causal power? Many physicists think of information as fundamental. If so, couldn't semantic information processing evolve? Seems like it is an empirical fact that it did.
I think you are trapped in an old, reductionistic worldview that creates definitions of fundamental, interior essences as being core causes, then labels everything else epiphenomenal. So the argument here is a circular argument that is true by the abstracted propositions that you are embedded in.
